“ Such a great little gem inside of Essex market. The waiters are amazing. We came here for the famous happy hour oysters. Certainly one of the best deals in the city. The oysters were absolutely delicious. We were also amazed by the rest of the menu. The tiger prawn skewers and the handmade noodles were fantastic. The food can be a bit spicy, but order yourself a nice drink and enjoy it. It can get crowded during peak hours especially due to the publicity received in social media. We’ll be back soon ”
“ Delicious fresh seafood dishes with a Vietnamese twist! We started with a skewer of grilled shrimp that was topped with sambal packed with flavor. The next dish was a well balanced coconut fried rice with a generous portion of fresh crab. For dessert we had the coconut pineapple ice cream which was light yet delicious. “ Just visited Essex 57 on their opening day and I’m seriously impressed! This little seafood sandwich place brings the flavor – fresh ingredients, bold combos, and a really nice level of spice that hits just right. Not too much, not too little – just enough to keep things exciting. Portions are on the smaller side, but the taste totally makes up for it. You can tell everything’s made with care and attention to detail. The team is super friendly and welcoming – such good vibes all around. “ Really good asian-style seafood place. The lobster roll is really delicious, and the seasoning of the fries is to die for: a little sweet, sour, and salty. The crab fried rice is pretty good as well. Another highlight of dinner is the deep fried octopus with coconut milk-based sauce. It tastes just like oc len xao dua. Monkfish is also yummy. The meat skewers are normal. Dessert is okay. Watermelon slush is quite good. Service is good. Although the servers forgot/messed up our order 2-3 times, they apologized at the end and gave us complimentary desserts. ”

“ Saw the eater video feature on the founder of this place and had it on my list to visit this trip. I think it's the best meal I've had. Admittedly I was only able to try a few things but everything was full of flavour and very fresh. The oysters were great but in hindsight I should have got something else cooked to try something more different from the norm. I had the fried squid and the Indonesian chicken wings. Both had tons of flavor. The fried squid had an awesome curry sauce to dip in that had a nice kick to it, and the wings had the level of flavoring depth I haven't had in a long time, certainly not outside of Asia. Amazing and would highly recommend to others. I sat at the counter and was able to watch the chef and team assemble the food. Loved the vibe of the guys and really hoping they continue to be successful! ”
“ One of my favorite South East Asian spots with a menu that keeps you wanting more. The fries with their secret spices is amazing. The happy hour pricing (dollar oysters) is definitely worth it for the food. Other highlights include the clams, skewers (lamb is a must), crab fried rice, and the fried Skate wing! Sit at the counter to get the full feel and chat with the chef and staff about your food. Ask for recommendations and ALWAYS use the sauce given. Every dish is clearly thought through to the nth degree and executed well. The drink menu has been crafted to perfectly complement the feel and flavors as well. We had almost half the menu and everything was impeccable. The pork jowl is to die for and the papaya salad was a great refreshing surprise full of texture and flavor. The oysters were the perfect amount of salt and the roe was a great texture add. You cannot go wrong with dinner here. Even the playlist will get you excited! ”
